It is no surprise that this game is at least in part based on John Muir since this is literally what the game title states. However, you may be surprised at some of the other behind the scenes content you can dig up once you start to dig into this game. They go way beyond just talking about nature when talking about John Muir; it's a game that takes a bit of time to build.
I must admit that the adult-oriented aspect of this game is what initially got me interested in it - especially when I saw it could be played with a spouse or partner. Of course, you have to remember that this was before the giant movement to push for games to be free of sexy content. That being said, I would probably not suggest this game to anyone looking for a \"true\" rpg (for lack of a better term). However, you can't deny that the presentation is pretty damn good and that the game has a very high production value - especially the music. So, if you are into this sort of stuff and are looking for one of the better titles out there, then you are better off heading over to this game's official page at the moment.
As a librarian, I am quite familiar with the literature of Muir's travels and speech and am quite amazed at the amount of detail-oriented homework that goes into this small, but very educational game. If you are looking for a couple board games to play with your kids based on Muir's adventures, then this game is well worth picking up. I am sure that the developers are hoping to sell you a full set of Muir's travels so that you can play it over and over again.
Hands down one of the best ad-supported apps out there - Super Cow Studios. This is one of those rare gems where there is no need to play unless you want to. I was curious when I first saw it in the App Store and after installing it, I was hooked as well. So much so that I just bought the Pro version.
