2019 Player to Watch List: Delaware State LB Brian Caviante

Next on our list is Delaware State LB Brian Cavicante. He was a member of the 2018 First Team All-MEAC and 4th in the MEAC in tackles with 89. Cavicante is a sideline-to-sideline linebacker with good instincts, he disrupts run plays at the line of scrimmage with 17 TFL (Tied for first in the MEAC) and he rarely over pursues the play. Cavicante has the speed and range to keep up with running backs in coverage and disrupt outside zone plays from his inside position. He’s also a special teams ace with a lot of special team tackles to go along with a couple touchdowns on blocked punts and field goals. He’s very versatile and fits the build of the linebackers that the league is moving towards. I expect another big season from Cavicante in 2019.
