2019 Player to Watch: Norfolk State LB Nigel Chavis

Next on our 2019 Players to Watch List is Norfolk State University LB Nigel Chavis. Chavis is 6’2 230 Lbs and he is a force on the edge for NSU. He has good size and strength to couple with his speed off the edge. He bends well at his hips and uses his hands very well. Chavis had 71 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 13.5 tackles for loss last season. These numbers were good for All-MEAC first team for 2018 and a VaSIC All-State performer. Chavis has the ability to make a QB and OT’s day very long, next season I expect his sack numbers to be higher.
