2019 Player to Watch: BCU WR Jimmie Robinson
Updated: Jun 20, 2019
Jimmie Robinson may be listed at WR but he should be considered position-less, he’ll go out and get it done at any position. Robinson was 4th in the MEAC in rushing on only 57 carries, averaging 11.7 yards per carry, overall he averaged 22.3 yards per touch. Robinson was one the most versatile players in his whole conference last season, he even racked up 9 total tackles on special teams and returned a blocked PAT for a touchdown. Off the jump Robinson will get Tarik Cohen and Tyreek Hill comparison based on his build, but Robinson to me favors Hill’s teammate De’Anthony Thomas more. Robinson is built more like Thomas and they both have top end speed but not on Cohen and Hill’s level. Robinson is a smaller guy but he is very tough to bring down, he will run through arm-tackles and is not afraid to lower his shoulder. His speed is game-changing and he’s a threat to take it to the house anytime he touches the ball. Robinson is also a STAT FCS 3rd team All-American Kick Returner. Robinson is the type of player a lot of coaches love to have, his ability to play RB/WR/RS ups his value immensely. If given the chance Robinson could become a force in the NFL.
