Grambling State ILB De’Arius Christmas

What is there not to like about De’Arius Christmas. He started his career at EMCC coming out of high school and leading a team full of Division 1 transfers in tackles while missing one game. Then he made his mark at Grambling winning SWAC Defensive Player of the Year two years in a row. Christmas has become one of the biggest names in HBCU football, and for good reason. Coming in at only 5’10 220 Lbs he’s not the biggest guy but he’s wouldn’t be the first “undersized” Lb to make it in the league. A guy he reminds me of is London Fletcher, While lacking in height they both don’t give up much in the running or passing game. Christmas is very mobile and physical, his instincts put him the right spots and always finishes the play. He’s a sure tackler in open space but also can fight through blocks to make a play at the line. He was asked a lot to roam the middle and he was up to the task. Never lets anyone cross the middle untouched, and had 2 interceptions, one was returned for a touchdown. He has a real chance at being an every down ILB in the league and can make an immediate impact.
